Newest idea map

Visual abstract/collage

I created this collage to show how I was think about a building and how everything around it nature, people, object are all moving and changing at all times and that buildings typically stay still and are the same throughout all this change.  I wanted to show how buildings could begin to move and change like everything else around them to better suit their environments and needs.

Second Visual Abstract

I tried to organize this visual abstract from the materials at the top and moving from materials to temporary structures to more permanent and then to historical structures.

Idea map and Visual Abstract

The first image is the first iteration of my idea map.  The second image is the second attempt at the idea map with images added.

The next to images are my image collection The images are organized in related categories and in a grid.

2nd Sections of Collages

These are the Second try at the sections of my photo montages.

Passage of Time

How I was thinking about this term-
Passage- an act or instance of passing from one place, condition, etc. to another.

Time- the system of those sequential relations that any event has to any other, as past, present; or future; indefinite and continuous duration regarded as that in which events succeed one another.

Terms- Movement, sequence, changing

Description of Section-
I composed this section by cutting through the photo montage.  I then represented each different photograph that makes up the montage by cutting through them in the section and showing how they are layered on top of one another.  Once I got the different height variations in my section from each photograph I then began to represent the section of the content of the room in each photograph.

Texture

How I was think about the term-
Texture- the characteristic physical structure given to a material, an object, etc. by the size, shape, arrangement, and proportions of its parts.

Terms- quality of surface, material, soft, hard, smooth, connections

Description of Section-
This section is a cut through the photo montage of the different variations of a single material.  I then tried to represent the different layers again of material 3-dimensional with the actual texture.  The section tries to show the depth of the texture.

2nd collages/1st sections

These are the second attempt at the collages and the first sections of the collages.  The first collage is for the term passage of time and is of a new more interesting space, in which it is shown from different angle at different times.  The section of this montage below is trying to a section through each different angle of the space and how they all connect to one another.

This photomontage is for the term texture.  It is showing how a materials can change depending on how it is treated and how in different lights again it can look very different.  The section of this montage below is showing the layering of the material on top of one another and how it begins to give depth to the montage.

1st collages and montages

This first two collages were for the term color.  The first one is of all the different colors that you would find around a home and how within a small area and get a wide range of colors.  The second color collage was of five different colored pieces of paper and how in different lights each color looks very different.

This photomontage was representing the term movement.  It was showing the movement through a room and how as you move through a space you get a different perspective on each different feature.

These next to collages are representing the term passage of time.  The first one is showing a single room and how at different point in time and begin to move through a room and everything changes.  The second collage is showing a building from when it is first building and how over time its functions and appearance beginning to change and how it can then be reused for a different function.

This photomontage was my first attempt at looking at the term texture.  I began by taking one material and showing how it can appear very differently and can have many textures.
